Vienna Calling! With Vea Kaiser, Eva Menasse, Verena Roßbacher and David Schalko
Ah, Vienna! The Austrian capital has always been a pulsating cultural hub. Above all, though, the city itself is often the star of music, art and literature, appearing not only in songs but also frequently in books. Taking on the role of city guides, Vea Kaiser (The Queen of the Grand Hotel), Eva Menasse (Vienna), Verena Roßbacher (Desire for Dragons) and David Schalko (Heavy Bones) subject the stereotypes to a reality check: They invite us to a coffee house for a mélange and a smoke, take us on a trip to Vorarlberg, whisk us off to fancy ballrooms with the moneyed elite, and drift beside us through the grimy underworld until the evening draws to a close at a hot-dog stand. We run into waltz queens, hustlers and whiz kids. And it goes without saying, everything is all presented with a good portion of Viennese wit!
