About David Schalko
David Schalko, born in Vienna in 1973, lives in Vienna as an author and director. He made his debut as a poet at the age of 22. He became famous for revolutionary television formats such as “Sendung ohne Namen” (Program Without a Name). His films, such as “Aufschneider” with Josef Hader and the series ‘Braunschlag’ and “Altes Geld,” enjoy cult status and have won numerous international awards. In spring 2019, his mini-series “M – Eine Stadt sucht einen Mörder” (M – A City Searches for a Murderer) – a remake of Fritz Lang's famous film – was broadcast for the first time on ORF. His new novel “Bad Regina” was published in 2021.
