Bottoms up! A User’s Manual for Beer. With Jaroslav Rudiš and Samuel Finzi
Author Jaroslav Rudiš is not only an expert in traveling by train, as proven in his bestseller “Travelling by Train, a User’s Manual”. The Bohemian native is also a passionate beer drinker. In A User’s Manual for Beer, he visits monasteries and breweries, beer gardens and pubs. His travels take him to places such as Pilsen, Budweis and Bamberg, the holy beer triangle of Central Europe, but also to the beer cellars of Cologne for the city’s signature brew: Kölsch. “A pale, top-fermented, clear, straw-blond beer with a light head, pleasantly dry in taste and as slim in body as the glasses from which it is drunk.” Today, he meets actor Samuel Finzi, who is such a regular at his favorite pub in the Bulgarian capital of Sophia that he has his own key. Together with host Marion Brasch, they will ponder the unifying power of beer drinking as well as myths and facts about the golden brew. Cheers!
