Everyone’s talking about the weather. So are we! Karsten Schwanke and Baro Vicenta Ra Gabbert on the climate and its consequences
with Baro Vicenta Ra Gabbert Julia Schöning Karsten Schwanke
For three decades, Karsten Schwanke has been a well-known weather expert on German television. Since 1995, he has presented the weather report on many news and weather programs on ARD and other public broadcasters. By combining his scientific expertise with an easy-to-understand communication style, he can explain complex weather and climate phenomena. Baro Vicenta Ra Gabbert is a lawyer and spokeswoman for social-environmental justice at Greenpeace Germany. As a co-founder of the non-profit organization Climate Clinic e. V., she volunteers as an advisor to climate activists and NGOs on issues relating to climate and law. Der Spiegel recently named her one of the “people who inspire hope” in 2025. Together with Fabian Grischkat, she published the book Keine Zukunft ist auch keine Lösung [“No Future Is Also Not A Solution”]. On stage, Gabbert and Schwanke will talk about the climate crisis now and in the future, how best to communicate a message and optimism – and they will probably chat about the weather, too. Host: Julia Schöning
