About Olaf Scholz
Olaf Scholz was born in Osnabrück in 1958. After studying law, he became a member of the Bundestag in 1998 and has held various political offices since 2001. Among other things, he was Federal Minister of Labor and Social Affairs from 2007 to 2009 and Federal Minister of Finance from 2018 to 2021. From December 2021 to May 2025, the SPD politician was Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.
