About Kae Tempest
Kae Tempest, born in South East London in 1985, is a poet, writer, lyricist, performer, and musician. He has written plays, poems, a long essay entitled Connectedness, and the best-selling novel What You Can Rely On. He was nominated for the Mercury Prize for his albums Everybody Down and Let Them Eat Chaos, and received two Ivor Novello nominations for his lyrics on The Book of Traps and Lessons. Tempest was named Next Generation Poet in 2014 and received the Ted Hughes Award for his long poem Brand New Classics. His books have been translated into numerous languages and published worldwide with great success. In 2023, the documentary Being Kae Tempest was broadcast on BBC Two. A Lifetime Searching is his long-awaited second novel.
