About Christopher Clark

Christopher Clark, born in 1960, is a professor of modern European history at St. Catharine’s college in Cambridge. For his book, “Iron Kingdom: The Rise and Downfall of Prussia”, he received the renowned Wolfson History Prize in 2007, as well as becoming the first non-German-speaking historian to win the German Historians’ Prize in 2010. His book about the First World War, “The Sleepwalkers” (2013), topped the German non-fiction best-seller list for weeks and was an international success. His acclaimed bestseller “Time and Power” was released in 2018, followed by the critically acclaimed “Prisoners of Time” in 2020. Christopher Clark became known to a broad television audience as the presenter of the multi-part ZDF documentaries “Deutschland-Saga”, “Europa-Saga” and “Welten-Saga”. In 2022 he was awarded the Bavarian Premier’s Honorary Prize.
