About Axel Prahl
Axel Prahl was born in 1960 in Eutin. After finishing high school in Neustadt, Schleswig-Holstein, he initially studied mathematics and music at the College of Education in Kiel. After just a few semesters, however, he switched to acting school. He got his start with roles at Theater Kiel, then on tour and at a range of additional venues with ever-increasing success. Axel Prahl has played Chief Inspector Frank Thiel in the Münster version of television detective show “Tatort” since 2002. He is considered one of the most prominent actors of his generation and has received numerous accolades for his work on the big and small screen. These include the Silver Bear, the Grimme Award, the Golden Camera, the Bambi and the Bavarian Film Award.
