Women on fire – Annette Frier, Sheila de Liz and Stefanie de Velasco on the menopause transition
with Rabea Weihser Sheila de Liz Annette Frier Stefanie de Velasco
In fall 2025, actress Annette Frier starred in a comedy series entitled “Frier und Fünfzig” as a woman in her 50s approaching “the change” – a true-to-life and incredibly funny portrait of the menopause years. Without ignoring any of the clichés or symptoms, she celebrates women in their sixth decade of life. In her advice book Woman On Fire, best-selling author Dr. med. Sheila de Liz describes perimenopause as “fantastic” and calls for a makeover of outdated views and lifestyles.
In Hot: A Love Letter to the Menopause, author Stefanie de Velasco takes a very personal and entertaining look into the horrors and promise of this time: What if it doesn’t mark the end of womanhood and the beginning of invisibility, but a new direction in life? Together with Rabea Weihser (“How We Became So Beautiful”), they will discuss hormones and how to keep your cool as well as rage and lust, and the sexiness of life experience.
