The German Audiobook Prize 2026 – Presentation on WDR 5

Audiobooks are like cinema for the ears – they transport us into other worlds and touch us with powerful voices, gripping content and impressive sound. As part of lit.COLOGNE, outstanding German-language productions will once again be honored with the renowned German Audiobook Prize.
Prizes will be awarded not only for the best female and male narrators, but also best podcast, best radio play, best entertainment and best children’s audiobook.
The celebratory radio broadcast from WDR Funkhaus will focus on the award-winning works and the people behind them – with readings, audio samples and conversations that give insights into the prize-winning productions.
The award ceremony will be broadcast live on WDR 5 and can be heard on nearly all ARD culture radio stations.
