About Ulrike Herrmann
Ulrike Herrmann, born in Hamburg in 1964, trained as a bank clerk, studied philosophy and history, and graduated from the Henri Nannen School. Since 2000, she has been an economic correspondent for the taz newspaper and a publicist on social and economic policy issues. In 2010, she published her first book, "Hurra, wir dürfen zahlen. Über den Selbstbetrug der Mittelschicht“ (Hurray, we get to pay. On the self-deception of the middle class). She subsequently published further books, including ”Der Sieg des Kapitals“ (The victory of capital), ”Kein Kapitalismus ist auch keine Lösung“ (No capitalism is not a solution either), and ”Deutschland, ein Wirtschaftsmärchen" (Germany, an economic fairy tale). She also appears as a commentator on political talk shows (Phoenix-Runde, Maischberger, Lanz).
