About Tanja Maljartschuk
Tanja Maljartschuk, born in 1983 in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, studied philology at the University of Ivano-Frankivsk and worked as a journalist in Kiev after graduating. In 2009, her collection of short stories “Neunprozentiger Haushaltsessig” (Nine Percent Household Vinegar) was published in German, in 2013 her novel “Biography of a Random Miracle,” in 2014 “Of Rabbits and Other Europeans,” and in 2019 her novel “Blue Whale of Memory.” In 2018, Tanja Maljartschuk received the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize. The author writes regular columns and lives in Vienna.
