About Markus Preiß
Markus Preiß has been studio manager and editor-in-chief of television at the ARD capital studio since June 2024. He presents “Bericht aus Berlin” and is known to audiences as the Brussels correspondent. Born in Heiligenstadt, Thuringia, he studied journalism and political science at the University of Dortmund. He then worked as a reporter for Tagesschau and Tagesthemen in Cologne. From 2006 to 2011, he was ARD correspondent in Brussels, focusing on the financial and euro crisis. After working as an editor for “ARD-Morgenmagazin,” Markus Preiß became a correspondent in Paris in 2013, then head of the “Tagesschau/Tagesthemen” editorial team at WDR in Cologne. In 2016, he returned to the ARD studio in Brussels as studio manager, reporting from there on Europe, the EU, and NATO, and hosting the “Europamagazin” program.
