About Benno Fürmann
Born in Berlin in 1972, Benno Fürmann gave his debut performance in “Heimat II: A Chronicle of a Generation” (1992), before completing his acting training at the renowned Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York. Then came various film and television roles in Germany, including “Und tschüss!” (1995), “Die Bubi Scholz Story” (1998) and “Trust Me” (2000). He can also be seen in international film productions, most recently taking the leading role in “Intrigo: Death of an Author” (2018) alongside Ben Kingsley. In the award-winning series “Babylon Berlin” he plays unscrupulous civil servant Günter Wendt. He has received the German Television Award, the Bavarian Television Award and the Grimme Award. He made his debut as an author in 2023 with “Unter Bäumen” [“Under the Trees”] (co-written with Philipp Hedemann).
