Robert Harris: Agrippa
With his new novel, bestselling author Robert Harris returns to the world of ancient Rome. The book tells the story of two young men whose fates are inextricably linked: Octavius, Julius Caesar’s 17-year-old great-nephew and heir, and his closest friend, Agrippa. Together, they stand up to the most powerful men in the Roman Empire. Eventually, Octavius becomes Roman Emperor Augustus and Agrippa his right-hand man. For two decades, the two jointly shape the world’s destiny. A gripping historical novel about power, loyalty and the question of whether true friendship can survive in the nexus of political power. “A master storyteller” (The Observer).
