There are topics that we encounter every day: What we eat. How we live. And what these two things reveal about us. When Alina Bronsky writes about Eating, it is not just about recipes or flavors but so much more: love, hate, temptation and emotional blackmail. With irony and empathy, she writes about borscht, sandwiches and Russian soufflé cake, dishes that taste like home or like freedom. Doris Dörrie turns her attention to another big fundamental topic in life: Living. She admits she doesn’t like staying in one place. She’s never wanted to put down roots – but somehow residential living has been a theme running through her life. With humor, ingenuity and curiosity, she explores how people around the world live and what spaces reveal about the inhabitants.
