About Rainer Bonhof
Rainer Bonhof, born in Emmerich in 1952, is a former German-Dutch soccer player and coach. The midfielder played 313 games in the Bundesliga and scored 57 goals. He was under contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach, Valencia CF, 1. FC Köln, and Hertha BSC, among others. Bonhof celebrated his greatest sporting success in 1974 when he won the World Cup. After his active career, he worked as assistant to national coach Berti Vogts, among other things. From 2009 to March 2024, Bonhof was vice president of Borussia Mönchengladbach, and since March 2024 he has been president of the club.
