About Peter Lohmeyer

Peter Lohmeyer, born 1962 in Niedermarsberg, is a stage and screen actor. After dropping out of the Schauspielschule Bochum, he celebrated his stage début in 1985 at Bochum’s Schauspielhaus under the direction of Claus Peymann. This début was followed by engagements in Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Berlin and Hamburg. Peter Lohmeyer has also appeared in numerous screen and television productions, including “Kaspar Hauser” (1993), “The Miracle of Bern” (2003), “Was uns nicht umbringt” (2017) and in children’s and young adult films such as “Tom Sawyer” (2011), “The Adventures of Huck Finn” (2012) and “Fünf Freunde 2” (2013). Since 2009 he has been playing Inspector Jan Fabel in the film versions of the crime novels of Scottish author Craig Russel. He has also played the role of Death in the play “Jedermann” at the Salzburg Festival since 2013, and in 2016 he appeared in “The Abduction from the Seraglio”at the Opera National de Lyon. Peter Lohmeyer has been honoured with numerous awards for his work, including the Bavarian Film Award (2000), the German Film Award (2004) and the Film Award of the city of Hof (2007).
