About Ocean Vuong
Born in 1988 in Saigon, Vietnam, Ocean Vuong moved to the US at the age of two and still lives there today. He has received multiple accolades for his lyrical work, including the Whiting Award for Poetry (2016) and the T.S. Eliot Prize (2017). His debut novel, “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” (2019), was published in German translation by Hanser. It won many honors, including the American Book Award and was followed by the poetry anthologies “Night Sky with Exit Wounds” (2020) and “Time is a Mother” (2022). His new novel, “The Emperor of Gladness”, appeared in May 2025.
