About Joachim Löw
Joachim Löw, born in Schönau in 1960, is a former German soccer coach and soccer player. After playing professionally for clubs including SC Freiburg, VfB Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt, and in Switzerland, he began his coaching career in 1994. He coached VfB Stuttgart (DFB Cup winners in 1997), Fenerbahçe Istanbul, Karlsruher SC, Tirol Innsbruck, and Austria Vienna.
In 2004, he became assistant coach of the German national team, and in 2006, he became head coach. Under his leadership, Germany reached the 2008 European Championship final, finished third in the 2010 World Cup, and won the World Cup title in 2014. His tenure ended after the 2021 European Championship. Since then, Löw has been working as a soccer analyst and consultant.
