About Isabel Bogdan
Isabel Bogdan, born in Cologne in 1968, studied English and Japanese in Heidelberg and Tokyo. She has written numerous translations, including works by Jane Gardam, Nick Hornby, and Jonathan Safran Foer. Her first book, Sachen machen (Doing Things), was published by Rowohlt in 2011, and she has also written short stories for anthologies. In 2006, she received the Hamburg Prize for Literary Translation and in 2011 the Prize for Literature. Her bestselling novel Der Pfau (The Peacock) was published in 2016, followed by Laufen (Running) in 2019. Her new novel Wohnverwandtschaften (Residential Affinities) was published in 2024.
