About Christian Streich
Christian Streich was born in Weil am Rhein in 1965. As a player, he was active for the clubs Freiburger FC, Stuttgarter Kicker, SC Freiburg, and FC Homburg between 1985 and 1994. He played 10 games for FC Homburg in the First Bundesliga. From 1995 to 2024, he pursued a career at SC Freiburg, first as a youth coach and then as a professional coach. He won the German championship with SC Freiburg's A-juniors in 2008 and was three times winner of the DFB Junior Club Cup. In 2023, he received the Julius Hirsch Honorary Award, and in 2024, the Walther Bensemann Award. In 2025, he received the Peace Prize of the City of Memmingen. Beyond soccer, Christian Streich has always spoken out on social and cultural issues and contributed to central discourses in our society with content on participation and integration.
