Fatherlands – Sabin Tambrea traces the roots of his family
with Katty Salié Sabin Tambrea
In 1985, violinist Béla Tambrea makes a difficult decision: He does not return to his homeland, Romania, following a concert tour. Two years later, shortly before the violent overthrow of the Ceaușescu regime, his family follows him to Germany.
Sabin Tambrea, best-selling author and one of Germany’s most popular actors, tells the story of his Romanian-Hungarian family in Vaterländer [“Fatherlands”] from the perspective of three generations: young Sabin, his father Béla and his grandfather Horea. It is a book about new beginnings and loneliness, hope and freedom. And a tender love story – that of his parents.
