For over a hundred years, at least since H.G. Wells’ groundbreaking novel “The Time Machine” in 1895, authors have shared our dream of traveling through time. Shortly after Wells’ book was published, Einstein proved in his theory of relativity that time is much more like space than was previously thought – thereby opening up a whole new playground for new science fiction and literary dystopias. There has always been a great fascination with time travel, whether by flux capacitor, worm hole or genetic abnormalities. But as soon as you start thinking seriously about it, totally different questions come up: Can you really change the course of history? How, as a time traveler, do you adjust to your new time circumstances? And what happens if something goes wrong on the way? Mark Waschke and Lavinia Wilson read from the great tales of time travel, while Knut Elstermann navigates into the past, through time loops and *“Back to the Future”. Concept: Hanna Wunsch
