The diva of Latin American literature – a journey of discovery through the life and work of Clarice Lispector. With Hannelore Hoger

Diese Veranstaltung wurde verlegt aus dem Theater am Tanzbrunnen ins COMEDIA Theater, Roter Saal.

In Latin America everyone knows the name Clarice Lispector. Her portrait appears on stamps. She has the reputation of being a diva. Her books are considered the most significant written by a woman in Portuguese. Here in Germany, her work – which often uses everyday situations to illustrate power differences between men and women – is yet to be discovered. With psychological exactness, she captures the inner worlds of women and the emotional consequences of inequality. Actress Hannelore Hoger appreciates Lispector (1920-1977) as a “pioneer of emancipation” and admires the “great rambling imagination” of her texts. Hoger will read from the author’s work, once described by a critic as containing “sentences unlike anything you’ve read anywhere else.” Host: Thomas Böhm; German text: Hannelore Hoger
