Esther’s family have returned to her father’s old hometown in East Germany to help the community build a new Kingdom Hall. While her parents go door-to-door to proselytize as special pioneers of the Watchtower Society, Esther sorely misses her old life in the West. In No Part of the World, Stefanie de Velasco (“Tiger Milk”) tells her own story. She writes about growing up in the Jehovah’s Witness community and the experience of being ripped out of a familiar life overnight. This book “ us a glimpse into an entirely unfamiliar world and leaves a lasting impression” (DLF). Host: Frank Plasberg
