Michael Kumpfmüller was born in Munich in 1961 and currently lives in Berlin, where he works as a freelance author. His first literary publication was the celebrated novel “Flash Jack’s Progress” in 2000, followed by his second novel “Thirst” in 2003. His 2008 work “Message to Everyone” won the Döblin Prize before the novel was even published. When published in 2011, “The Glory of Life” became a best seller and was highly praised by literature critics. “The Glory of Life” has now been translated into 23 languages. His most recent publications are “The Education of a Man” (2016) and “Days with Ora” (2018).
