Joachim Meyerhoff was born in 1967 in Homburg/Saar and grew up in Schleswig. He was a member of the ensemble of the Burgtheater in Vienna from 2005 until he moved to Schaubühne Berlin in summer 2019.
For his debut “Ten Green Bottles...”, he was awarded the Franz Tumler Literature Prize in 2011 and the Bremen Literature Prize in 2012. In September 2016, he received the Nicolas Born Debut Prize and the Euregio Students Literature Prize. He has been named “Actor of the Year” several times. In 2017 he also received the Nestroy Theater Prize for best actor. In 2019, he received the Ehrenpreis des bayerischen Ministerpräsidenten [“Honorary Prize from the Bavarian Premier”] for his writing work.
