Iris Schürmann-Mock was born in Duisburg in 1947. After her studies, she worked as a journalist and press officer, including at the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs. In 1982, she and Gabriela Wenke founded the magazine “Eselsohr” focusing on children’s and youth media. Iris Schürmann-Mock has been a freelance author for 25 years. She writes narrative non-fiction books, children’s books and poems for children and adults, and publishes anthologies. She also creates musical/literary programs for adults and children.
