Premier reading! Jean-Luc Bannalec withdraws to idyllic Brittany

Streaming from Theater am Tanzbrunnen

The heat wave this August has even Brittany firmly in its grasp, and there’s no chance to cool down in sight for Commissaire Dupin. To top it all off, Nolwenn is planning a big celebration for his 10th work anniversary, and he hates being the center of attention. But then, one morning, a dead man is fished out of the sea on the coast near Concarneau, a resident of the legendary Belle-Île. And before he knows it, Dupin is on board a speedboat headed toward the “most beautiful island in the world”. Breton Idyll is Jean-Luc Bannalec’s 10th novel featuring Commissaire Dupin. The first eight volumes of the crime fiction series with this Breton investigator were filmed for television and translated into numerous languages. In 2016, Bannalec was awarded the title of “Mécène de Bretagne” [“Patron of Brittany”] by the Brittany region. Since 2018, he has been an honorary member of the Académie littéraire de Bretagne. Host: Stephanie Junker
