Jens Thomas

Jens Thomas was born in Braunschweig in 1970 and studied jazz piano at the University of Music and Theater Hamburg (HfMT). Since 1996 he has performed numerous concerts in Germany and across Europe. He has also released multiple albums and won several awards, including the SWR Jazz Prize, the “Choc de l’année” from the French magazine Jazzman and the German Record Critics’ Award. Since 2003 he has taken part in various theater productions, including at Thalia Theater in Hamburg, NTGent and Schauspielhaus Bochum. In 2020, he composed the soundtrack for the NDR documentary film “Tod auf dem Hochsitz” and released his album “Jens Thomas”.
