Hendrik Streeck
Professor Hendrik Streeck is Director of the Institute of Virology at the University Hospital Bonn. He started his medical career at the Charité Hospital in Berlin and obtained his doctorate at Rhenish Friedrich Wilhelm University of Bonn. From 2006 until 2009 he completed a postdoc fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He was an assistant professor at the Ragon Institute of Massachusetts General Hospital, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Medical School and was later Chief of the Cellular Immunology Section of the United States Military HIV Research Program. In 2015, Streeck became Chair for Medical Biology at the University of Duisburg-Essen and founded the Institute for HIV Research in the same year. In August 2020, Prof. Dr. Streeck was appointed to the COVID-19 Expert Group of the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP).
