About Friedemann Karig
Friedemann Karig was born near Freiburg in 1982. He has written for media such as Süddeutsche Zeitung, Die Zeit, Spiegel Online, radio broadcaster Deutschlandfunk and Rolling Stone. His non-fiction book “Wie wir lieben. Vom Ende der Monogamie” [“How We Love: The End of Monogamy”] was published in 2017 and his debut novel “Jungle” appeared in 2019. The non-fiction book he co-wrote with Samira El Ouassil, “Erzählende Affen. Mythen, Lügen, Utopien – wie Geschichten unser Leben bestimmen” [“Story-telling Monkeys: Myths, Lies, Utopias – How Stories Shape Our Lives”], was published in 2021. He hosts the show “Jäger&Sammler”, which was nominated for the Grimme Award, on “funk”, the online platform of ARD&ZDF. In the 46 episodes of his Spotify Original Podcast “Friedemann&Freunde”, he has interviewed guests such as Luisa Neubauer, Kevin Kühnert and Anne Will. Every Friday, he currently releases a discussion with El Ouassil in “Piratensender Powerplay”.
