Danielle de Picciotto

Interdisciplinary artist Danielle de Picciotto was born on the Fort Lewis military base in Tacoma, Washington. She investigates the regions between the inner and outer edges of our collective psyche, transforming her impressions into music, literature and art. In 1987, she moved from New York City to Berlin, where she launched the Love Parade with Dr. Motte. She’s performed internationally with her band “hackedepicciotto” since 2001. Since 1990 she has recorded a total of sixteen albums, including with Mick Harvey, and she’s released three solo albums. She has produced several films for the German Department of Foreign Affairs, based on her animated illustrations. Her art is exhibited worldwide. She has published three books (two of which are graphic novels) and performs as a spoken word artist.
